NASCAR driver Carl Edwards goes 1,445 miles on one tank of gas! 
At 5:37 AM Tuesday morning (April 28), the Ford Fusion Hybrid JDRF Challenge finally finished. After 69 hours of driving by 7 different members of the fantastic Ford team, the car finally came to a stop in a safe location near the George Washington Parkway in Alexandria, VA. The car has managed to go an astonishing 1,445.7 miles on ONE TANK OF GAS!!!! The team averaged 81.5 mpg despite a storm and 3 night time drives.
The Ford Fusion Hybrid surpassed the goal of reaching 1,000 miles the previous morning, Monday April 27th at 9:08 AM. After 48 continuous hours of driving, NASCAR driver Carl Edwards triggered the celebrations as he passed 1,000 miles on a single tank of gas.
